Angel Paintball Sports A1 Fly Preview

It seems that if anyone knows how to keep a good secret regarding their upcoming products, it’s Angel Paintball Sports. They have successfully kept all information regarding their new high end tournament paintball marker, the A1 Fly, under wraps until now. After months and months of rumors, teaser pictures and videos, the A1 Fly has finally been released.

APS Angel A1 Fly

The new A1 fly is being regarded as APS’s finest tournament paintball marker. With vastly improved features and design in the areas of:

  • Weight
  • Ergonomics
  • Electronics
  • Air system
  • Barrel System
  • Internals

the new Fly will take the place as APS’s flagship marker, and be placed in the hands of eagerly awaiting players.

According to APS:

Reliable

Thoroughly field tested by Stockholm Joy Division during the 2007 NPPL and Millennium tournaments and to devastating effect in early 2008 Millenniums.

Lighter

Angel designers and engineers have tried to remove as much material as possible - without compromising the structural integrity and typical design flair of the FLY.

Faster

Cycling speed, because the lighter hammer reacts even faster.

Lower Operating Pressure

Even more gentle on paint

More Efficient

1800 + shots per 68CI due to the all new Magno Valve

Less Recoil

Due to the lighter hammer which aids in reducing reciprocating mass.

Greater Accuracy

The lighter hammer results in considerably less recoil and increased accuracy.

Improved Traction Control

All new fly paper creates even more stability - improved feel and touch in wet greasy conditions – replaceable inserts in the important gun/player interface areas.

Zero Lateral Trigger Movement

All new trigger and trigger retention mechanism - NEW super-lightweight blade style trigger incorporates the standard ANGEL four way adjustability and the NEW mounting mechanism which results in absolutely ZERO lateral movement.

New In Line Regulator

Now features a standard thread regulator mount which allows you easy access to the regulator internals for easy servicing and maintenance.

I’m always in search of well produced videos and media to display on maxrof. It takes quite a bit of talent to shoot and produce and good segment of media, so I naturally give credit to those who take the time and effort to bring the rest of us quality produced paintball media.

It’s really nice to see paintball companies reaching out to the public, and their fans, with short behind the scenes, how-to’s, or just general news and updates about what is going on in the paintball world. Planet Eclipse started doing this with their E-Casts, and it’s good to see Dye following suit. This five minute segment is a look at Dye’s flagship team, the Los Angeles Ironmen, during the 2007 PSP World Cup.

Once in a while a product will enter the market that stirs up the industry via new ideas and innovation on the foundation of old products. The implementation of carbon fiber material into consumer related goods is a relatively new field, but a promising one that has a great deal of room to expand.

There are currently only a spare few companies who’ve taken the time to implement this technology into the barrel market, and Paintball Assassin is looking to put a hit out on them with their new line of carbon fiber “Deathstix” barrel kits.

Paintball Assassin Deathstix Barrel Kit

According to Paintball Assassin:

The Series 2 Deathstix barrel kit maintains the ultra accurate 5 to 5 porting design and high quality carbon fiber we have become known for. It also comes with the 4 sizes of backs (.686, .689, .692, and .695) and a black hard case that holds the entire Deathstix Kit. It has space for 4 backs and the tip. Our case keeps your barrel safe and secure, while other companies give you a plastic tube.

Paintball Assassin Deathstix Barrel Kit Backs

The Deathstix Kit is guaranteed to shoot straight and clean out easier than an aluminum barrel.

New changes have been made to the Deathstix for the 2008/2009 line, they incorporate our new Deathstix logo, as well as the word/logo “KILL > > >” on the very tip, these design changes combined with our new colors make the Deathstix barrel kit the most detailed and configurable kit on the market.

For all of the previous Deathstix owners you have confidence in knowing that your Original Series tip is mechanically the same and the backs and tips are all compatible with each other.

Paintball Assassin’s new Deathstix Barrel kits are currently available through their online distributor: http://paintballshop.com. Current pricing for their carbon fiber barrel kits depends on your selection of length. Currently available kits are:

  • 14″ Deathstix Barrel Kit = $154.99
  • 16″ Deathstix Barrel Kit = $164.99
  • 24″ Tactical Sniper Deathstix Barrel Kit = $179.99
