As said in our preview of the Myth Regulator, we here at maxrof take a great interest in companies who produce innovative products. With that being said, the Myth Regulator is a breath of fresh air in the market of currently stale products.
Guerrilla Air, manufacturer of fine air products, has released their highly anticipated “Myth Regulator”. The main feature of the regulator, which is causing so much commotion in the industry currently, is its ultra compact size. As seen by the diagram, when screwed into the marker ASA, the bottle is spaced an extremely tight ¾ of an inch from the marker’s own frame. The design allows for both tighter play, and smaller profiles on bottles of all cubic inches.
From Guerrilla Air:
This is the regulator that is destined to take its place in the annals of Paintball, as the one that rendered all other screw-ins obsolete.
Myth’s Unique features:
- An astounding less than ¾ in length from ASA to bottle.
- An unimaginable “Air-light” weight.
- Virtually instantaneous recharge.
- Rebuildable.
- Replaceable head tip (for those accidental dings to the o-ring gland).
- User Friendly.
- All the same incomparable quality, safety, performance and support you have come to expect from Guerrilla Air.
The Myth regulator itself is a bit of an engineering wonder. While other companies are churning out regulators that seem over sized and clumsy, Guerrilla has milled things to a minimum and actually produced a micro regulator that works at the same level, if not better than others.
After a relatively easy installation involving:
I headed out for Xball practice. My immediate first impression was that my 68ci tank was now actually comfortable, and felt just like my preferred 45ci. One of my problems, playing mid-insert and occasionally front, was that I enjoyed the comfort and ergonomics of a 45ci tank, but never liked the air supply when compared to a 68ci. With the Myth regulator, this was certainly not the case anymore. Despite not sounding like an extreme amount, ¾” makes a big difference in the distance between your ASA and the tank.
Performance wise, the Myth regulator performed flawlessly all day without any major hiccups or malfunctions. I never once experienced inconsistent flow rates, or shot drop off at high rates of fire. Generally, we normally play at the required PSP rate of fire (13.33bps)…however for this session we cut our markers loose and ripped through a few hoppers using unlimited ramping. The Myth took every thing we threw at it.
Note: When the Myth regulator was released, certain websites featured knockoff versions for an extremely low price and sold them under the Guerrilla name. In order to assure genuine OEM Guerrilla Parts, be sure to double check to make sure your dealer is an Authorized Dealer from Guerrilla.
The Guerrilla Air Myth Regulator is available from Compulsive Paintball’s online store today for $39.95

Paintball is an ever evolving sport. There was once a time where companies focused solely on an individual market for their products. However with the advancement of time, technology, and capabilities in manufacturing, companies that were once monotone in their product focus have been given the opportunity to expand their product line to multiple areas.
Custom products is heavily known for their high pressure regulators and marker accessories, however one of their recent jumps in R&D has been with the introduction of their own carbon fiber air systems. With recent big name teams switching over to Custom Product’s air source from competitors, you may wonder how this new kid of the block fares in performance. Luckily, we received one in for testing and have a relatively positive outlook on the product.
From Custom Products website:
It’s here!!! The air system you’ve been waiting for. The CP Air combines everything you’ve been looking for in an air system and puts it together in one ultra light package.
Super High Flow Rate, Fast Recharge rate, Superior reliability and on top of everything it’s rebuild-able. All of this in a design that is nearly ½lb. lighter than the competition. What more could you look for in an air system?
The CP Air Combines it all and then backs it with the commitment to be at every PSP and NPPL to offer full factory support when you need it most. We took the same reliable technology that you have come to know and trust from the CP In-Line Regulator and created the ultimate bottle regulator.
One of the first things noticeable about the CP air system is its compact size. Tank manufacturers are discovering techniques in the construction of bottles that have allowed them to shrink the size of the bottles to a more comfortable and compact size than previous versions. The 48ci version that we received allowed for an impressively tight gun profile. The specifications for length are:
The next noticeable thing that users would like to know is the weight. The CP air system is relatively light. As with the size, weight has also been an issue that has been addressed by new manufacturing techniques. With these capabilities, CP has shaved off 1/2lb. more of weight than certain competitors and brought the final weights (with regulators) down to:
Performance wise, the CP air performed without flaw. We combined it with a test model 2008 Ego for a day of standard Xball practice. The low pressure version that we received had no hiccups or shoot down that can be common with low pressure tanks. The tank’s small size allowed for a smaller profile, and light weight made handling the marker setup easier. Shots per fill are not an issue with a review here due to different markers having much different efficiency.
One of the nicer things about the CP air system is that Custom Products issues a five year warranty on all its tanks, with a lifetime warranty on the air regulator. Also, Custom Products offers full service and technical support for their products at every PSP and NPPL event. If you ever have a problem with your tank, you can rest assured that you will be taken care of by their excellent customer support.
The Custom Products “CP Air” Air System is available from Compulsive Paintball’s online store today for $209.95.

2007 is a great year to begin playing paintball. Marker manufacturers have come a long ways since the old days of the original markers. Sometimes however, it takes the finesse of someone outside of the company to improve upon the design of an OEM part.
ASAs (air supply adapters) are a touchy subject when it comes to original factory pieces. For me, I find that ones that come installed on a marker to sometimes be sufficient to my needs, and others that completely irritate me. It seems that something so simple as an adapter wouldn’t require much R&D in order to design one of excellent quality. Yet some marker manufacturers continue to amaze me at the lack of “detail” involved in something so crucial as an ASA.
Custom Products is a well know company because simply enough…they are everywhere. The variety of products they make has simply saturated the market due to their availability, quality construction, and superb pricing.
Custom Products direct mount ASA is something that sets the standards for all ASAs to be compared to. The design promotes a more direct feel by eliminating the standard rail adapter, and connects the adapter straight to your marker. While some elitists may cry that you cannot adjust it position wise, I feel that there is no need to. The ASA places your air tank correctly inline with your shoulder, and all around feels very comfortable. Another real nice feature that I feel should be options on ALL ASAs from the factory is a purging option. On a non-purge ASA, after turning it off there is usually a small amount of pressure that is left in the adapter. This can usually cause problems removing the air tank from the adapter. Also in some cases the threads can be mis-sized and will require unnecessary force screwing the tank into it.
Installation is as simply as unbolting your stock rail/adapter, and running the two screws up into the frame until they become snug. Testing showed that the new ASA eliminated the problems associated with the stock ASA, in that the removal and installation of the air tank was silky smooth and effortless. The on/off screw also features a back stop to keep from unscrewing the valve out of the adapter accidentally.
Custom Products Direct Mount On/Off ASAs are available today for $50.00 at Custom Products online store.
