I’m always in search of well produced videos and media to display on maxrof. It takes quite a bit of talent to shoot and produce and good segment of media, so I naturally give credit to those who take the time and effort to bring the rest of us quality produced paintball media.

It’s really nice to see paintball companies reaching out to the public, and their fans, with short behind the scenes, how-to’s, or just general news and updates about what is going on in the paintball world. Planet Eclipse started doing this with their E-Casts, and it’s good to see Dye following suit. This five minute segment is a look at Dye’s flagship team, the Los Angeles Ironmen, during the 2007 PSP World Cup.

derder fans were slightly disappointed after the PSP Mid Atlantic Open due to a “headshot” not being released. For those not familiar, derder is known for producing short event re-caps that usually feature an excellent overview of an event’s games and scores, and, as of 2008, a celebrity performing the games commentary.

It seems however that derder has chosen to spice things up by changing event venues and releasing their second Headshot as coverage from NPPL’s second event at Jacksonville, Florida. As with the first headshot episode, from the PSP Phoenix Open, derder has contracted a celebrity to perform the commentary, and it is none other than paintball veteran, Chris Lasoya.

While browsing around the other day, looking at some information on some upcoming products, I stumbled across this old skool commercial from our friends at Crossfire Inc. Crossfire has been in the game of producing high quality regulators and compressed air tanks for a long time, and this video backs up that statement. Now I’m sure there will be some elitists out there who will disagree with me, but I’m sure that there will also be a lot more people who will agree that:

  • Original Angels
  • Automags
  • Revvys
  • Huge drop forwards
  • Ten man
  • Truck tires for bunkers

spells old school. It’s always nice to remember where we come from in order to appreciate the current state of where we are with professional tournament paintball.

The NPPL has always been known for its ability to market itself to the public. Whether it be sponsorships from companies not associated with paintball, or television deals with major networks; the NPPL has a current level of publicity and market coverage that the PSP and Millennium series just haven’t aquired yet. With that being said, it is no surprise that they are taking the time and effort to push forward into the frontier of internet media with their in house produced webcast event overviews.

As with their Huntington Beach web cast, the crew at NPPL have released a short overview which takes fans to the second NPPL event in Jacksonville, Florida for a behind the scenes look at some of the games, the players, the fans, and the crew who help make the super seven series the most popular league in America.

We at maxrof are deeply sorry in the delay on this video. one4one’s latest was released a few days ago, and as always it is top notch production. Episode Two of the coverage of NPPL’s second event in Jacksonville shows off some more of the amusing Allstar game, and some great interviews with top players from different teams.
