From my understanding they have been released to the public, and were available as of World Cup.
My recommendation is PunishersPaintball. They seem to have all of them in stock and ready to order:

1. We are finishing the Eos review today, editing and etc., and it will be published by March 5th.
2. A quick check here: http://www.pbreview.com/fields/85/ lists a great number of stores / fields in South Africa. I’m sure most of those have / can acquire Smart Parts equipment.

the Smart parts Eos is a GREAT paintball marker. i HIGHLY recommend it!!! I am getting one very soon. Greg Hastings told me that it is the BEST paintball gun on the market. In fact, he’s got 3 of them.

The Eos and Epiphany are the “middle” ground between the Ion/IonXE and the NXT.
The Eos / Epiphany platform is an upgrade to the Ion/IonXE due to the addition of a more adjustable grip frame / trigger, adjustable firing chamber, Q-Lock (Eos), Freak Jr. barrel kit, and a Smart Parts On/Off.
The Redz Ion is a normal Ion that has been outfitted with Redz grips, Redz barrel, Redz On/Off, and a Redz trigger. It retails today currently for $349.95 from PunishersPB. However, it isn’t quite up to the performance of the Eos/Epiphany and is a bit overpriced.

> pierre (or John…being as your eMail is the same as John from http://maxrof.com/smart-parts-eos-review/ )
If you are new to the electronic world of paintball markers, I believe the Epiphany currently would be a better choice for you. Not only will you save $150 dollars over the Eos, but you will be buying virtually the same marker.
As seen by our review of the Eos ( http://maxrof.com/smart-parts-eos-review/ ) the only major difference between the two is the addition of a Q-Lock feed neck, and a screw out back plate design.
In our experience here, as long as you service the marker after every day’s play with new lubricant…you won’t have any problems at the field. A screw out backplate really isn’t necessary unless you are playing round robin style tournaments, and you haven’t brought a separate marker setup for backup.

hey thanx bill … im not new to the electronumatic guns but i have already bought the eos and it has wonderfull performance , but why did they bring the eos out if the epiphany is the same gun or is the eos majorly upgradable

I’m glad that you are happy with your Eos and its performance.
In regards to your question about company motives, I can’t say why Smart Parts would introduce the Epiphany, and then the Eos in such a short period of time.
Although here is my logical guess:
Marker manufacturers profit off sales of equipment. When a marker is introduced, there is generally a surge in sales due to hype, anticipation, want factor, etc. In manufacturing, as more products are produced…the cost tends to decrease. This means that the first run of “surge” markers will cost more to produce than the same marker one year down the road after production levels off.
In order to keep interest in the company and products, new items have to be introduced in order to keep sales numbers high. R&D costs money. So that, combined on top of a newly introduced product, makes profit numbers reasonably low.
However, it seems that of the last few years…marker companies have chosen to release series markers (2006, 2007, 2008, etc…) with little or no difference in the main core marker design. This way, I hypothesize, they can not only keep interest by releasing “new” products, but they can capitalize on not having to invest any R&D work into the new models. The only thing they have to do is slight cosmetic work which will give a slightly slimmer, or lighter profile. They change around said profile, add some new colors, hype up the new marker as “revolutionary” and “best model” yet, and capitalize on an increased profit margin.

Hey, I have a question. I am considering purchasing the Empire invert mini, however I will have to have it shipped over to my location from another country. I am wondering if it is a recommended gun by you guys. and if it is wise to be shipping it. I would also like to know, can it take the virtue board (any type)
Thanks regards

Clint:
The Invert Mini is a solid marker that, in our experience with it, is a phenomenal performer.
It’s ease and simplicity in design, along with its price, makes it a great mid level performance marker. If you have the cash, I would recommend it over the Smart Parts Ion, or Eos. Since it has been on the marker, it has been targeted by board manufacturers and can be fitted with upgraded electronics.
Being as Empire deals internationally, I’m sure you won’t have any problems shipping it.
Seems like we should do a review…:-)
JoMomma:
I would suggest working with the marker a little bit to see if you can obtain better efficiency. If things are new, then it will take a while to break in. After that, you should try working with the pressures and electronics to see if you can raise the SPF (shots per fill).

Thanks guys, you have both given me excellent information and feedback. I am now confident in my decision and hope to have one soon. After I have purchased the gun and tried it out a bit…perhaps I can help you with that review
thanks again

I would just like to point out, that to all new players to paint Ball and player’s new to Elc pneumatic the SP-1 Tactical, is amazing, it had a Auto matice smi automatic and 3 round burst fire mode’s. it is very accurate and has a 12 BPS fire rate, it is actualy a tactical version of the Vibe. it also has a few upgrades that Smart parts are working on to make it have the fire rate of an Ion. it is compared to all markers on the Tipmann line up and has surpassed them all the only advantage found it all the tipmann line up was the Cyclone feeder, might i add the SP-1 is only about 150$ US+Tax.
